Tryout Information
2012 - 2013
General Information:
*Candidates will learn and demonstrate both dance and flag
skills and routines
*All try-out material will be taught at the THREE FORMAL CLINICS
*OPEN GYM is designed for candidates to get help and additional
practice with support from current Dazzlers (attendance
at the clinics and open gym is highly recommended, but
not mandatory)
Mandatory Informational Meeting:
WEDNESDAY, April 11th at 3:30PM OR 6PM
Location: BVNW LITTLE THEATRE
*Candidates MUST attend ONE session with a parent/guardian
in order to try-out (candidates and parent/guardian do not
have to attend the same session)
*Summer Dance Camp is TENTATIVELY scheduled for the
3rd weekend in July.
*Summer Practice is TENTATIVELY July 31st
- August 3rd (in the AM)
*Band Camp is TENTATIVELY scheduled for the
first full week of August.
Both Dance Camp & Band Camp are MANDATORY!
We will have FINAL dates for you at the informational meeting
as well as online once they are decided.
Also, If you are in town, you are expected to attend EVERY
Summer Practice—Work is NOT an excuse! I will handle
summer conflicts on a case-by- case basis once the team has
been selected. If you already have trips planned and you make
the team, talk to me right away after try-outs!
Formal Clinics:
Tuesday-Thursday, April 17th-19th from 4:30PM-7PM (6:30PM
Thurs)
Location: BVNW, MAIN GYM (Tues/Weds) AUX GYM (Thurs)
We will announce try-out groups at the THURSDAY clinic
Open Gym Practice Session:
Friday, April 20th from 3:30-5:30PM
Location: BVNW, MAIN GYM
Open to ALL candidates; no new material will be taught at
this time; this session is designed for candidates to REVIEW
and REHEARSE together.
Try-outs:
Monday, April 23rd—Please arrive by 3:15PM,
assigned times will begin at 3:30pm
Location: BVNW, MAIN GYM
***The OFFICIAL list will
be announced via internet on the April 23rd—specific
details will be given the night of auditions***
The Dazzlers are both the flag and dance team for
Blue Valley Northwest High School
